Camping in Bryce Canyon

We went to Bryce Canyon with the Birdsalls in July.  It was so beautiful and so much fun!

Our first day we went up to a manmade waterfall canal.  It was just a little hike--1/4 of a mile, then at the top, they could play in the water.

Scott, Jeff, Austin, Kate

All the kids and dads hiked up to a rock while the moms stayed with the toddlers.  They had to slide down because it was so steep.

This is where they hiked up to

Getting Ty to sleep was a special kind of fun

Ty picked up rocks and put him in his little shirt pocket, he had quite the collection

We hiked down to the Queen's Garden the second day.  It had tons of the Hoodoos and was just incredible!

Austin, Kate, Jeff, Julie, Ty

Not pictured:  Mom almost having a heart attack as we hiked some scary areas with our unpredictable toddler Ty.  The compromise was that Mom had to walk ahead with the 3 older kids and Dad and Ty stuck together so Mom didn't have to watch and freak out!

We are so glad we got to visit this incredible place!  Definitely want to go back and hike some more!

Butterfly Release

Jeff heard about this fun wildlife show they had going on at the local conservation center...

First, they had a few wild animals, first the raccoon.  This has been an obsession for Austin and Scott for many months, so they were SO excited about it!

Kate, Scott, Austin, Ty in front...this is a hedgehog

The 3 older kids petting the skunk

Scott was not near as sold on this as Austin was

Ty went in for the card and that was it

We also did a craft--here is Kate and her butterfly

Then, the monarch butterfly release.  It was so incredible!  Scott had a monarch butterfly land on him.

Packer Reunion at Lava Hot Springs

Well darnit, we were having so much fun that we got very few pictures, but we went to Lava Hot Springs and all stayed in a house together.  It was so much fun!

We went to a parade in Soda Springs and it was so cute.  At the beginning of the parade, the kids all got to run a race through.  At the end, they got a popsicle and a pass to Lava Hot Springs, it was adorable!

Every hour, this geyser goes off, so right after the parade, we went over and ran through, it was pretty cool.

One day, we swam at Lava Hot Springs, it was a really fun water park.  We also floated down the Portneuf River on tubes, what a fun reunion!
