You know you are tired when...

This morning Jeff and I were talking on the phone. I had it on speaker because I was feeding the boys. I started feeding the babies again and kind of zoned off--I forgot that Jeff and I were talking! Then Kate goes, "Where Daddy go?" and I said he was at work. Well, she started pushing buttons on the phone, I looked and saw it was on and on speakerphone, then I asked, "Jeff, are you still there?" I had completely forgotten we were on the phone. I don't know if I did this story justice, but it was HILARIOUS!

Growing Boys

Everyone says that babies grow so fast, but I didn't notice as much with Kate (she was only about 16 lbs at 1 year) but with Scott and Austin I can tell! That is probably because they have to be on a higher calorie formula--Scott is about as much as Kate was at her 2 month appointment, so I think he is going to be big! Austin is just a pound behind, so he is really growing too! A friend came over the other day and said they were chubby! After Kate, I never thought I would hear one of our babies described as "chubby" so I was SO excited! I love their little chubby cheeks--all three of the kids got them!

We find Kate doing this a lot. She just loves her brothers and always wants to hold/hug/kiss them. It is so sweet.

These are their girlfriends for a while, Scott and Sally on the left and Austin and Autumn on the right. My parents gave the dolls to Kate when the boys were born, so we can see their growth with the comparison.

My aunt Marcia got these adorable outfits for the boys, I love them!
This is how I look most days (Kate loves these shoes and they were out). Now I know why Jeff married me.
Kate LOVES the bath!
We are starting to get used to life, every day gets a little easier. Last week was a really good week and this week is going pretty well so far too. The boys are just so sweet too and are starting to be good eaters. The best news--they had a 6 hour stretch last night! I love waking up and looking at the clock and seeing 4:15! Heaven!

Oh, and a couple questions I got on here and that we get all the time
1. How do we tell them apart (did I mention on here that they are identical?)
Scott is at least a pound bigger so you can tell by looking at him and by picking him up. Also, Scott is awake more than Austin and always has his big eyes wide open staring around. Austin is always just trying to keep his open!

2. They were in the hospital for 6 1/2 weeks.

3. And this was from when they were in the hospital, but no, they did not put them in a crib together--just because of germs and stuff. It wasn't until near the end that we could hold them together.

4. Kate never got to go in the NICU, 3 and under can't go in the NICU and during RSV season, under 12 can't go in. So, Kate met the boys for the first time when they were 6 1/2 weeks old!

5. The boys' weights are up to: Scott is over 8 lbs and I think Austin is over 7 lbs

6. I didn't have a c-section (that is one great thing about having such little babies!)

7. In the hospital, they bundled the boys up so they felt like they were still inside. Especially at the beginning, they tried to keep it really dark, quiet, and low stimulation from visitors so they could just grow and develop.

Okay, I think that is all of them. Sorry it took me a while!

Pictures of the Kiddies

We went to a girl I knew in college and she did such a great job! I am really excited about them! I will put them on the blog when we get them, but here is a sneak peak.

Fashion Show, Birthdays, and other good stuff

We got Kate's, Scott's, and Austin's pictures done so I had Kate try on all of her possible shirts. To tell you the truth, I can't believe how good she did! I love how girly she is!This won

And this also won

This begins Kate's birthday party. We had Jeff's parents and Jeff's brother and wife over with their kids. It was a fun time! It was nice to have a little social outing for Jeff and I (and I think Kate too).
Kate had so much fun playing with her cousins. She loves them SO much!
I attempted making one of these fun birthday cakes. It turned out okay. The long skinny rays were hard to frost and I ran out of frosting. Oh well! I think it turned out pretty good.
We got Kate a little trike for her birthday. I forgot to get pictures, but Jeff's parents got her a doll stroller that she absolutely loves! She pushes it everywhere. Kate doesn't really get the trike yet.
These two are such good pals!
This was Kate's face when everyone left.
Kate has started pumping with me when I pump--I am pumping about 8 times a day, so she knows it well!
My dad came down and got to see the babies.
Jeff's parents have been helping us out a ton!! Jeff's mom came over one afternoon just to help me out a little bit. It was really nice to have her here. I finally got some stuff clean in our house!
Scott and his girlfriend Sally. Soon to come: Austin and Autumn

Things are going well. I am happy for everyday we make it through and I LOVE the weekend! Scott and Austin are starting to be awake more. Today we played with them for about 30 minutes. They are on the verge of smiling, but not yet. It is hard to know when they do things because according to their due date, they are only a week old, but really they are about 10 weeks! They will catch up at some point, probably around age 1 or 2.

Kate is still doing really well with the situation. She loves her brothers so much. She is always wanting to hold and hug and kiss the babies. When the babies are sad, I say "come here" as I pick them up and Kate has started to do that--when they are crying she says that and tries to pick them up. She also likes to help burp the babies (and she really gets burps out)

She is talking a ton and I have to be really careful what I say, especially when I am frustrated because she WILL repeat it!

Kate has also started calling me Mimi sometimes. I LOVE it! She will just say "hi Mimi" So cute!

Kate is still really social too. She loves when anyone comes over--especially the cousins that live close here. When they come over or when we go over there, she FREAKS out! It is hilarious! She loves anyone though.

Something funny she has been doing is when she is in trouble/hurt/bored she will say "Daddy come soon." Now she has started to add in other people such as "Whitney come soon" (Aunt Whitney) and "Emma come soon" (her 3 year old cousin) It cracks me up. The other day Jeff had just walked out the door to go to work and she came up to me and said "Daddy come soon." I knew it was going to be a long day!

Kate is also starting to really love to sing. She loves any time people are singing and likes to sing along in her own way--in church--at home and even when we sing her when putting her down to bed. It is pretty precious. That is all I can think of for now. I wanted to write everything Kate is doing for her two year post, but I will write more as I think of it.
