Big storm

In hindsight, I'm thinking we should have had one of the kids hold the hail, it would have made it look a lot bigger, but it was so big.  The sky got SO black right before and the hail just lasted for a minute or so, luckily, it didn't ruin the garden
 The kids were mesmerized.

We found a beach!

Well, actually, our friend Aimee told us about it, and only about 30 minutes away.  We took our shovels, pails and trucks and got ready for a day of fun in the sun.
 Austin in the water
 Scott working his trucks
They all started working together to build a big pool, this was Kate's area she was working on.
I made a mini pool for Austin and Scott that they could have some space to work on. (Austin, Scott)
And here is the finished product (right before we left).  What a fun day!

Picture of the Day

Right after my morning walk, we heard the kids downstairs just a giggling away.  Not sure if you can tell from this picture, but this is a very small space for 3 little kids.  This is Scott

Whitney's Wedding

I had such a hard time deciding between pictures that I chose them all.  Here we go...

The weekend before Whitney's wedding, she had an open house in California.  Melissa and Ellie, and I flew down to join the party.  This is us getting ready for the party.  And sadly, that is all that is documented of the party on my camera.  It was a ton of fun and looked so nice!

Melissa's flight flew out 2 hours before mine, so my mom and I hit the beach.  It was so fun--we got some fish and chips, yum (a little greasy, but tasty!!)  It was fun just hanging out for a bit!

And here I am at 30 weeks pregnant--oops I really mean 20.  Getting big fast this time around and no, it isn't twins!!
The next weekend, the party started again.  We had a bridal shower Thursday for Whitney and had such a great turnout.  (No pictures, but we made the most beautiful fruit kabobs)

Friday, family started coming in and since Whitney was getting married about 10 minutes for our house, it became kind of a base.  The kids played, we set up the pool and they were so cute and had a great time playing.  It started getting hot later so here they are having a little popsicle.  (Austin green, Scott, blue/gray striped)

Something is obviously hysterical...

This was the closest one, sorry Austin, you are the casualty.  Aren't these kids adorable?
Robert saved the day by bringing his ipad, the kids loved watching Mickey Mouse and others.
 Daddy Daughter
Rachel was so adorable with Kate, they had so much fun!

 First Dance
My cousin Leslie's little girl, Kalysta.  She was a dancer and Scott joined right in, they were so cute!
Rachel and Kate, blurry, but the only one I got.  Grandpa D in the background busting a move.
Scott had a riot with Grandpa Durtschi
 It became quite the party
Austin wanted nothing to do with it, but loved watching
 Scott and Grandpa
 Scott and Whitney
Scott was the life of the party!  I had so much fun watching him, he had so much fun!
Trying to get a family picture at the temple after the wedding.
We're so glad Whitney and Joe got married to give us an excuse to party hard for half the month of August!  Welcome to the family Joe!

Placenta Previa

This pregnancy has been fairly smooth with one minor hiccup.  In the middle of July, I found out I had placenta previa, which I had no idea about.  It's when your placenta covers your cervix which can be a major problem, especially when you are trying to deliver the baby.  The worst case scenario is you end up on bed rest (possibly hospital), have baby early and deliver via C-Section.  Mine was just a very mild case and the doctor hoped my placenta would move up within a few weeks.  I had to take it easy for about a month, but not bed rest.  And, my last appointment, they found it had moved up slightly!  Woo Hoo!

Yes, this was taken in early August.  This girl is so funny--she gets cold so easily.

More Summer Happenings

We have had such a busy and fun summer.  One of Jeff's old high school friends (Eric Bascom) came into town from Louisiana.  We went to dinner with just them, then came back here and had ice cream with all the kids.  We had so much fun with them, their kids were so sweet and cute (and polite!!--Yes Ma'ams and Yes sir.  We realized we need to train our kids better!)  We loved seeing them!
We also had an overnight ward campout at the stake's land down by Spanish Fork.  The horrible fires from this summer had burned a lot of area, but luckily, had preserved this beautiful spot to camp.  Actually it was a pretty big area.  They had a zip line up there, I sat that one out, but Jeff did it.

Breaking the rules, what a rebel!

They also have had $2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point.  We took the kids and Emma and the kids got such a kick out of seeing all the animals.
 Austin brown, Scott blue
 Austin loving the tractor
 Scott also loving those tractors

The crowds were crazy enough that we haven't been back, but at least we went once!

Swimming Lessons Take 2

The kids got a lot of their nervous jitters out the first time around, so this second set was just fun.  Kate was still apprehensive about being in the deep end again, so we got her some goggles and that really helped.
And the boys got goggles too, notice, no death grip of their hands this time around!
Scott trying to pull himself out of the pool
Austin trying to pull himself out--this proved to be pretty hard for both of these boys, time to start lifting some weights!!
Kate really came a long way on the diving board--she would just fly off and loved it.
 Scott still loving the slide.
 Austin going "halfway"
 Brave girl!
And the real reason they came--those popsicles

The kids enjoyed their swimming lessons so much.  The people live pretty close to us and said we could come swimming whenever we wanted.  We went swimming a few days ago and it was funny to see how much the kids had matured--particularly Austin.  He was jumping off the diving board by himself (scary!) and going down the whole slide.

We got Seven Peaks passes this summer and went quite a few times.  I think that helped the kids become more acclimated to the water, they're little fishies now!
