Kate's Last Soccer Game

Kate ended up LOVING soccer.  It was so fun to her improve so much--she started out not knowing anything about soccer and not quite understanding how the game went to being one of the hustlers on the team, knowing which way the ball needed to go and being a real asset.  Most importantly, she had SO much fun and can't wait to play again!

Kate made some new friends on the team, this was one of them named Abby.

Swimming Lessons Part 1

We signed all three kids up for swimming lessons.  This first picture is a picture of the first day.  Kate took swimming lessons from the same place last summer and wasn't too nervous, but Scott and Austin were both scared.  They were so sweet though and held hands to comfort each other.  Scott is in the gray shirt, Austin in the green.

Kate got moved to the deep end.  She was not excited about it.  She made some new friends on the deep end.
The highlight of each class for Austin and Scott was when they played ring around the rosy and Motorboat Motorboat.
Austin would just go "halfway" down the slide.  He was a little nervous.
Kate was a little nervous to go off the diving board and held her teacher's hand, but she did it!!
Scott surprised me--he just climbed up that tall ladder and went down the whole slide.  He must have liked it because he did it a few times each day.
Kate also loved the slide and went down a few times each class.

The kids loved having something to do (and especially the popsicles they got at the end).

Memorial Day Weekend

Oh Memorial Day weekend--I'm so sad it's over!  We had such a great time, visiting with family and relaxing.  It went way too fast!
I didn't take a lot of pictures, but we got there Friday, went to breakfast Saturday morning (I haven't been out to breakfast in years and LOVED!  We need to do it more)  We had a BBQ at my brother's house with SO much yummy food!  The next day, we had a dinner at Grandpa D's house, then then next day we went over again and played all day and had a BBQ.  Of course--you can't forget the Reed's Dairy ice cream that is to die for!  Yum!

Also, Jeff, Zac and Grandpa all went and played a round of golf and the
weather even cooperated (it rained hard every day but Monday)

This is Monday, these kids loved Grandpa's excavator.
Austin and Sasha exploring other "tractors"
Scott was a little nervous, but decided to walk over to Grandpa and ask him for a ride in the excavator.
All of the kids got wind of it and all came running over and Grandpa gave everyone a ride!  Not a short ride either, he let each one have a long turn.  What a fun time!

The kids and I stayed for a few days extra and Jeff had to head back to work.  We went to the park one day and rode bikes around the park, it was beautiful!  Here everyone was playing a game of Pooh Sticks.

And if you ask Kate, her favorite thing about the whole weekend was probably holding this little dream of a baby--seriously the most perfect baby ever.  We all adored her!

Some other highlights include good times at Melissa and Zac's.  It rained a lot of the weekend but they totally kept us entertained (and very well fed!)  I missed Jeff when he left, but I cannot tell a lie, I loved playing some good Pinochle after the kids went to bed.  Especially when I shot the moon...  That was one good hand!  Thanks everyone for such a fun week in Idaho!

For real though...

I have been thinking about it for a while and we're doing the private thing, but for real this time :)  I've decided I can get in touch with old friends through facebook, and we'll keep this private.  I saved emails from last time around, so if you got an email, you know I still have yours :)

Two Buddies

Austin and Scott have gotten to be such buddies the past few months, I feel like I always mention this, but I love it so much.  One of my favorite things as a mom is seeing these two boys playing together--interacting, talking, and pretending.

These boys love trains--anything Thomas.  We set up train tracks a lot and they'll play forever on them.  They always each have very long trains (and sometimes have a hard time dividing them up) (Austin left, Scott right--Austin always has Thomas, Scott always has Percy)
These boys LOVE riding bikes (or any toy outside)  They both love to be outside. (Austin left, Scott right)
Both also LOVE legos and get them out pretty much every day and usually do just this--hook together as many cars together as they can and drive them around.  They usually like to put lots of people and animals and blocks on them too.  (Austin back, Scott front)
Also, please note Scott's shorts--they are on backwards.  Both dress themselves these days, so shorts on backwards are a very common occurrence--I'd say at least once a day with how many times they go to the bathroom.  If I was a really good mom, I'd make them change, but I just laugh, it looks so funny!!

These boys have just gotten so easy.  We look back to what we were doing 3 and even 2 years ago and we know we are on some serious relax time.  I LOVE these ages, they're so dang cute and fun.

Picture of the Day

My best friend from college, Michele came to visit Salt Lake for her brother's wedding.  Made my day and the kids couldn't stop asking about her.

Jeff had a birthday!

We went to the park with the some family and played a little ball for Jeff's birthday, it was a lot of fun!
Happy Birthday Jeff!  We love you!

Lots of Kate happenings...

Kate has been the star this month.  She started soccer and has been LOVING it.  Jeff and I volunteered to be the coaches--there is a definite learning curve for that!  We are enjoying it though, but the best part has been to see Kate improve and enjoy herself, it's been fun!  Kate is #6.

Kate also had her big end of the year dance recital.  She has become such a good little dancer, it's so fun to watch her!  Her teacher was Miss Bonnie again (sweetest teacher ever)  They danced to Locomotion and Straighten up and Fly Right.

Then, Kate graduated from Junior Jaguars preschool.  She loved it so much and never missed a day the whole year.  She made some new little friends and learned lots of fun things.  They did a slide show with pictures throughout the year that was really cute.  They put together a really nice graduation with a Hawaiian theme.

This was one of Kate's teachers, Miss Carly

 This is Kate's neighbor friend
(Yeah, I took one for the team, seems this happens way too often!)
 Kate's other teacher, Miss Laura

I think Kate might just start getting bored out of her mind with all of these things ending, but what a fun year!
