Christmas in Idaho

Grandma and Grandpa Durtschi had their mission farewell this weekend, so we went up to listen to them speak.  They rented a hotel conference room for us to meet in and we had a great time.  We ate, played games, visited, then swam.

Logan loves Grandpa Durtschi!

Ty, Logan, Everly, and Addie loved Alfie's toy

We had a really great time (I guess there wasn't time to take pictures).  It was fun being in Idaho for a couple of days!

Distracted

We got this puzzle as a family present on Christmas Eve.  Mom spent approximately 12-14 hours working on it on December 26th.  Pretty fun!

Christmas Day

Oh man, there was some excitement in the house!  Mom woke up at 7:30 naturally and was very surprised she hadn't been woken up.  Downstairs, the four older kids were just hanging out and waiting.  With Mom's permission, all four kids ran up and woke everyone up so we could see what Santa brought.

Austin was excited about an electric toothbrush

Scott loves his new underwear!

Kate was pretty thrilled and excited to get a hoverboard

Scott and Dad worked to put together his new scooter.

One of the most special parts of Christmas is when the kids give their gifts to each other.  This year, each child gave to one younger.

After presents, we made the most gourmet breakfast.  Austin went outside and cooked bacon and sausage for everyone.  Scott and Dad made eggs, and Kate helped with pancakes.  It was even better then it looks!

Austin (with his new hat), Dad, Ty, and Scott played a game of Risk.

Mom and Kate worked on putting her house together while Logan sat close and played with all of his new toys.

That afternoon, we went to the church gym and played.  Dad even tried out Kate's hoverboard.

Logan loved getting a ride on Ty's new bike.

...and then abruptly changed his mind

Christmas was a very nice, relaxed day together as a family.  The kids all shared their toys and there really was a warm glow in our home.  It was a special one.
