A Visitor and some Football

Mom's cousin Mike stopped for a visit on the way home from St. George. We were all thoroughly entertained by him!

He and Dad went out in the backyard and played some football. One bounced on the tramp while the other tossed the ball to him. This was one about to hit the window of the house (luckily, it did not break)

Dad throwing the ball

Mike catching a ball (he took off his shirt at one point, he was feeling very amped up after a big win in St. George)

After, Mike wanted to take a family picture.

All of the kids thought Mike was the greatest!

Kate Gets Stitches

Right after we moved, Kate got to go up for a few days with Zac and Melissa's family to hang out. The first night, Mom got a call that Kate had a gash in her eye, this was the picture accompanying that call. Kate and Teagan had been playing around and somehow, Teagan hit Kate in the eye with a tennis racket. Teagan felt TERRIBLE, but Kate was pretty good natured about it. She ended up having to get 5 stitches.

She thought about coming home for about 30 seconds, but decided she wanted to stay and keep playing!

Moving and Putting in the Yard

The week before we moved, Jeff and I rented a trencher to make way for pipes. Sadly, they don't do pipe pullers in Utah that we could find, so this was the next best option--especially for the incredibly rocky ground that is here in West Jordan.

It was very dirt, but satisfying. The next day would be our official moving day.

The Speths were so nice to help us move our big furniture the week before our big move. It was so nice to have all of the heavy furniture out of the way.

My mom came down to help us get ready to move and it was so helpful!

We had movies going for the kids so we could finish packing, loading trucks, and cleaning.

Our last goodbye. Those are not fake sad faces, we felt melancholy as we left--excited for a new adventure, but sad to leave West Jordan.

On our way!

Melissa and Zac came down for the weekend to help us move as well (which was SO much help). Brian also was in town on a trip with Elise and he was nice enough to give us four hours to help us with the sprinkler system. We were all exhausted, but we worked our guts out and were able to get most of the sprinkler system done the next day (after we moved).

Figuring out a way to get the pipe under the sidewalk--we used the pressure washer through a long hollow stick.

Even Logan helped--the whole family was working hard.

During the next week, we worked to get the dirt smoothed out, the sprinkler system finished and ready for sod. Here is Scott raking. We raked SO much!

We hired some boys in the ward to help us lay sod. It was so helpful!

The Nelsons moved in that same first weekend. The kids loved each other right away and are pretty much inseparable. They taught us about chickens, we got our chicken coop and some baby Bantam chicks from them.

Playing Stratego in the new house.

Austin

We were happy those crazy few days were over. They were intense and exhausting, but we were so grateful to all of those that helped so much!

Spring Soccer

Originally, we were thinking our move date would be in April, so the kids were very relieved when the move date got pushed back to May so they could participate in spring soccer.

Grandpa came to watch most games. This day was particularly cold, so inbetween games we all hung out in the car and Grandpa was his usually funny self.

Ty loved playing goalie and did a good job at it.

Kate played some killer defense all season.

Scott getting ready.

The four older kids all had a great time playing and had great seasons. They were a little sad to say goodbye to these teams, but so glad they had the chance to play with them.
