Happy Fourth of July!

We stayed in Utah for Independence Day.  We went to the West Jordan parade.  Kate, Austin, and Scott sold popsicles and water along the parade route and each earned $17.

Dad scoped us out a fantastic spot in the shade the night before.

We went to the Buckner's house for a barbecue and some fireworks, it was really fun!

We then came back to our house to do fireworks.  Our neighbor (to the west) was doing some really big fireworks.  One of them tipped over sideways and shot straight at Austin.  He took off screaming and running and fireworks were falling out of his shirt.  These holes in his shirt are where the firework hit him.  It was pretty scary.

We felt very blessed in the situation because earlier Austin was wearing a very thin shirt.  Mom noticed and asked him to change.  Austin listened and ended up putting on this jersey that has multiple layers.  If he hadn't had this on, the burns would have been a lot worse.

We had a fun and blessed Independence Day!
