4th of July

We had a great 4th of July.  We decided to stay in West Jordan this year again and made some changes from last year that made it even better.

Here is our fireworks celebration.  The kids loved the sparklers and we all loved the parachute guys.  We shoot them up, then the kids run and try to catch them. (Kate pink, Scott blue, Austin orange)

We went to the parade early to save a spot.  We set up our canopy, then Kate and I went pretty early and hung out.  We each brought books, snacks, and some cards.  Then Ryan, Malece, and kids showed up and we all just hung out, then watched the parade. (Scott on the chair, Austin on Ashley's lap)

That afternoon, we had a swimming party.  We set up the big pool and the little pool for Ty.  Jeff and I even got in.

Family Swimming

A day at Trafalga

We went to Trafalga for the day, the kids really loved the Pirate Ship, especially Austin.

Kate has recently started to love rock-climbing.  She went to a scout thing with Jeff and climbed right up to the top and the other 11 year old boys were having a harder time, she seems to have a knack for it.

Swimming Lessons

The kids did 2 sets of swimming lessons again this summer.  Austin and Scott were a little nervous at first, but all three ended up having a great time.  

Austin was a little nervous at first going down the slide, but ended up loving it.  He also improved a lot with swimming.  By the end, he was loving swim lessons.

Scott went down the slide A LOT during free time, at least 5 times each day, he really loved it.  A highlight for both boys is at the end when they get in a big circle and do Motor Boat and Ring around the rosy.

Kate improved so much this summer.  She kept getting candy bars for doing an extra good job.  She could jump off the diving board, then swim to the side all by herself.  It was pretty cool.

Cousins by Donut Falls
