Logan's first birthday

This boy!  We can't believe we have had him for a whole year!  He has been SO much work, SO much fun and we LOVE him to pieces!!

Logan has recently discovered how fun the dishwasher is.  When the older kids are clearing out the dishwasher, he comes crawling as fast as he can to "help" unload it.  For some reason, he loves the knives!

Ty and Logan are getting to be buddies.  Logan thinks Ty is the greatest, he busts up laughing at him when Ty does about anything.  (Ty is mostly tolerant, but keeps Logan grounded with comments like, "Logan isn't cuter than me")  It is pretty cute!

Logan loves playing with Dad.  He is always willing to squeal and laugh if anyone gives him some attention and fun.

We made Logan his own little birthday cake--yellow cake with chocolate frosting.  He was not too sure about the chocolate frosting, but he did love everyone around him laughing, singing to him, and just making a big fuss over him.

We love this little boy so much. He has such a pleasant and easy going personality.  He even decided to start sleeping through the night occasionally for us and when he does get up, it is usually just once.  Logan is almost always called "baby " still (in fact, it feels weird to refer to him as Logan).  I think this year though, he will get called Logan more because he just isn't such a baby anymore.  He loves getting around the house and getting into cupboards.  Under bathroom sinks are one of his great loves along with the tupperware drawer.  He really doesn't like baby toys, but he really loves any device with a screen.  We love you baby boy!

 Staci and kids were in town, so Grandma and Grandpa had everyone over to dinner.  Everyone had a great time, all of the kids enjoyed playing together so much!

Happy 10th birthday Kate!

We have been parents for a decade!  It blows my mind!

It was so fun getting to celebrate this special girl.  

Her big birthday present this year was a sewing machine.  Kate is always begging to sew and was so excited to get her own machine!

For her special birthday breakfast, Kate chose poppy seed muffins, strawberries, and eggs with bacon. For her special birthday dinner, Kate chose potato bar.

Kate has already sewn a few things--a pocket for a few different people and a little bag that turned out really cute.

Kate is such a responsible girl and so much fun.  She is constantly coming up with good and fun ideas for all of the kids to play.  Logan just loves her and definitely looks to her as a second mom.  Kate and Ty will run off and play together a lot as well.  Ty will play house with Kate and they have a lot of fun together.  Austin and Scott really look up to Kate and love to play with her too.

Kate's favorite color remains to be blue, but sometimes is joined by hot pink and currently purple.  Kate continues to have a love for soccer and is getting better and better at it.  She also started playing basketball this winter and did really well.  She enjoys playing sports.  Kate also still really loves reading.  She is currently reading Harry Potter, but it is not uncommon for her to be reading about 5 books at the same time--she will have these all stacked in her room.  She is growing up so much and continues to develop her sense of humor.  She helps us read scriptures and remember family prayer and family home evening as well.  She continues to excel at piano as well.  Kate is also very known for being a very honest person.  When she says something, you know it is the truth.  

We love you so much Kate!!  You are such a special one!

They also really love Calvin and Hobbes and have recently discovered how awesome Harry Potter is.

Spring Happenings

 We made some freezer meals, it got too big for our biggest bowl to mix, so we decided to try a garbage bag (clean of course) and it worked surprisingly well!

And we got 5 delicious freezer meals out of it!

Austin and Scott were so cute, bringing all of this stuff in and organizing this train.  These two boys always come up with such fun ideas and are so sweet with baby Logan.  They are always very tender and loving with him. (Scott in stripes, Austin in gray jacket)

We also had some basement flooding.  I was downstairs with Ty when he asked me why the window was dripping.  We had gotten a record setting 2 inches of rain and it was too much. Luckily, we got the problem figured out and now the carpet is fixed.

 Jake and Angie came into town overnight for their spring break and we went to the Natural Curiosity museum with them.  We had a lot of fun there.

We went to the school to decorate teacher's doors for teacher appreciation week and Ty wanted to push the stroller.  He is getting pretty good at it.
