Kauai Day 3

We woke up early in the morning and drove to Port Allen for our boat tour on the Catamaran Kahunu.  The boat tour was great.  Emma the crew member was very knowledgeable (she was a marine biologist).  The other Hawaiian crew member was good too and it turns out he was LDS.  His uncle, the Captain, was kinda gruff but very likeable.

The boat tour took us to the Na Pali coast where we saw amazing coast line sheer vertical mountains, caves, and waterfalls.  We also saw whales, dolphins, a turtle, and porpoises.

We liked Catamaran Kahunu (Julie loved it!!).

This is a sperm whale and it's calf (just a few days old they thought)

We saw hundreds and hundreds of porpoises (they look just like dolphins, but are actually porpoises). You could see them above water and hundreds more below. it was spectacular.

This is the cave we backed into.

We got to back right into this cave on the Na'pali coast. We even saw a sea turtle in the waves, swimming in the cave.

For dinner we headed to Poipu to the Keoki’s Paradise restaurant.  The dinner was decent, the setting and atmosphere was awesome.  The Hula Pie was awesome. The atmosphere was really fun because there was a man playing Hawaiian music and a woman dancing the hula. It was so great.

A dole whip we got for a snack

The boat trip was a major highlight! (Just like everything else on this trip!)
