New England Trip Day 4

Our last full day in NYC. We have had so much fun here! It was Sunday so we went to church in Manhattan. It was a great service and was fun to go in a different city. We talked to a family visiting from Dallas for a long time as well as other locals.

This is the place we ate breakfast every morning—Carve restaurant and we loved it! By the last day, we were friends with the owners—who were all family.

The church building—right in the middle of the city. The church is also the temple (on a different floor).

After church, we walked around more vendors near Times Square and got lunch. Ty, Logan, and Scott have eaten most meals at McDonald’s at this point.

All of us in front of the church —and temple.

After church, we went to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. We spent a few hours there. It was powerful and a good reminder of the strength we have when we are all together. It was also interesting how people turned to God at those horrifying moments.

These were one of the few functioning staircases people used to evacuate the building.

After, we realized we were really close to the Brooklyn Bridge, so we decided to walk across.

After we crossed the bridge, we decided to keep walking and went to Brooklyn Bridge Park. This was a really cute Brooklyn neighborhood we walked through.

We were all tired by the time we got to the park and loved sitting on the grass, listening to the brass band and enjoying the view.

Logan ran and put money in their bucket and was SO embarrassed.

We were all pretty tired and kids were getting hungry. We hiked to a subway and rode it back to the hotel. We ate in Times Square then went to bed and crashed!
